How UsefulUtilities processes tool input, server logs, analytics choices and personal information.

Last updated: 19 August 2026

Summary

The public UsefulUtilities site uses its existing Google Tag Manager and AdSense publishing connection. Google's Privacy & messaging consent platform manages applicable advertising choices. Some tools use Laravel Livewire and send their input to the application server; tools explicitly labelled “processed locally” run their transformation in your browser.

Tool input

Unless a tool explicitly says it is processed locally, assume its input may be transmitted to the UsefulUtilities server to produce a result. The application does not intentionally save ordinary tool input in its database, but transmission still exposes that input to the hosting infrastructure. Do not submit passwords, private keys, access tokens, medical data, confidential client information or other secrets to a server-processed tool.

Local tools are designed to process input in browser memory. Their input is not intentionally included in URLs or analytics events. Browser memory is cleared by the browser when the page or tab is closed, subject to normal browser behaviour.

Server and security logs

The web server and hosting provider may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the service, such as IP address, request time, requested URL, user agent, response status and diagnostic/security events. Retention depends on the production hosting configuration and should be kept only as long as operationally necessary.

Cookies and browser storage

Laravel may set essential session and cross-site request-forgery cookies for interactive server features. UsefulUtilities stores the paths of saved and recently used tools on your device to provide the personal utility shelf. A recipe can also be stored when you explicitly save it. Tool input and output are not included in the saved-tool or recent-tool history, and the interface provides controls for removing that history.

Analytics and advertising

In production, Google Tag Manager connects this site to the existing AdSense account and its Google-hosted consent message. Depending on your location and choices, Google may serve personalised, non-personalised or limited advertising and process technical information such as IP address, browser information, page URL, consent state, ad impressions and interactions. UsefulUtilities does not intentionally place tool input or output into advertising or analytics events.

The production publishing integration has an environment-controlled rollback switch and is kept separate from development and automated-testing configuration.
